First off, our Split Antlers are NOT just half versions of the same size whole antler chew. They actually very close in weight/portion to the whole version!

Our Medium Center-Cut Split elk antler Mountain Dog Chews are perfect for dogs between 15 to 95 pounds, depending on your dog's individual chewing temperament. These chews are considered our middle size; however, there is nothing middle-of-the-road about them! They are huge by others' standards! Your dog will love everything about this morsel of a chew and love you (even more!) for treating them to it!

We have found that our Center-Cut Split chews tend to be most favored by dogs – not surprising, as puppies, seniors and all dogs love ready access to the yummy, nutrient-rich marrow. As our antler chews are expertly hand-cut, OUR split chews are a safe and satisfying treat. Dogs literally go nuts over our Center-Cut Split chews!

Offered on a per-piece basis (that is, Qty 1 = 2 chews).

Average Dimensions: Hand selected for consistency, this Medium Center-Cut Split chew generally varies in length from 6 inches to 8 inches and, if not sliced into a single half, would vary in average diameter from 1.75 inches to 2+ inches wide.

Original vs Hickory-Smoked - Mountain Dog Chews are now available in two varieties, ORIGINAL ANTLER (Our Straight-Up Fresh Antler) or our NEW HICKORY SMOKED (Lightly Smoked with real Hickory wood adding the distinct aroma, flavor and color of natural Hickory Smoke. Our Hickory-Smoked antlers are only made after you order, so please allow us an additional day of handling time to smoke the antlers before shipping your order.  Smoked antlers will cost an additional $7.50 per each antler chew. Unfortunately, we DO NOT offer returns on Hickory-Smoked Antlers.

Every antler chew is naturally unique and will vary, accordingly, in size and shape, weight/density and hue of color. However, all Mountain Dog Chews elk antler chews are sourced only from Grade A+ elk antler – the best one can purchase.

As with all consumable chew toys, please supervise diligently your pet when providing this antler chew. Once this chew has become worn down to a size that could pose a choking and/or swallowing hazard to your pet, please discard responsibly, and replace with a new Mountain Dog Chew!

    These Split Elk Antlers are excellent quality, and we feel very safe with our Wheaten chewing up a storm on them. They’re great for his teeth and gums, plus he loves his “bone”. I’ve been using Mountain Dog Chews for years without any problems. I highly recommend and so does our pup.

    Our 40 lb Aussie took the split right out my hand from the minute it arrived with an approving sniff first! The outer shell of the split is tough so no splinter worries. She worked a quarter of the marrow out in no time flat!

    We have been getting whole chews from Mountain Dog Chews every year for our dog but now that he's a little older (6 years) I purchased a split chew instead. He can hardly stop chewing it in the evenings and carries it around with him (I've never seen him do that with the whole chews) so the split chew is a winner!

    I have purchased quite a few of the whole elk antlers in the past from Mountain Dog Chews, and my 2 small pups seemed very happy with them. After reading a bit more about the antlers on this site, I decided to try a larger size split elk antler. I only ordered 2...one for each of my dogs to see if they liked them as well. Two good sized antlers were delivered, and both dogs went for them immediately. However, they both were interested in the same one. I thought this was just a bit of "I want what you have", so took both away that night. The next two days, I gave them back to the dogs, and each time, they both went back for the same one. It's been about a week now, and one have most of the marrow gone, but the other is almost perfect. For some reason, they just don't want that one.

    i have been purchasing a number of different split antlers for my PBGV. some are better than others, some last longer than others, and some splinter more than others. then i happened across MountainDogChews, and there is no going back. she absolutely loves these splits! and she is not shy about "attacking" them! i will keep buying this brand from now on!

    Dexter absolutely loves his elk antler and it has lasted us 3 weeks so far. He is an aggressive chewer and is unable to finish his antler in one sitting which makes this worth buying.

    My Goldens, Maddie and Bailey love these. They've been Mountain Dog Elk Antler dogs since they were 6 months old. They just turned 2 and as usual they both want the same one to start. After a day they trade off until one's gone, then they start on another one together. Sisters, go figure.

    Very fresh, my dog loves it

    I was getting a new dog from a shelter and while I was ordering this antler from Mountain Dogs I had to go and buy him a temporary chew at the big pet store. I wasn't pleased with quality of antlers at the store - they all looked white which, from all my research, means they are not fresh. And then this chew comes - it looks all brown and clearly very fresh, almost like it was just picked up in the woods. And guess which chew my dog prefers now? His old chew from the store now just lies there and he chews on this one - so apparently the dog "knows" the difference.
