Each of our Mountain Dog Medallion elk antler Mountain Dog Chews are crafted from quite large, dense burrs, and are perfect for most all dogs! Your dog will feel like he or she just Won the Gold when you hand over one of our Mountain Medallions!

We have found that our Mountain Dog Medallions, much like our Center-Cut Split chews, tend to be highly favored by dogs – not surprising, as puppies, seniors and all dogs love ready access to the yummy, nutrient-rich marrow in the core of these burrs. As our antler chews are hand-cut, Mountain Medallions are a safe and satisfying, and highly durable, treat toy. Dogs literally go nuts over them! Note: As these are natural products, some discoloration in the white area of the antler burr, along with the occasional elk hair trapped along the gnarly edges, is normal, and does not affect the integrity of the chew.

Offered on a per-piece basis (that is, Qty 1 = 1 chew).

Average Dimensions: Each a quality elk antler burr, Mountain Medallion will average in diameter from 3 inches to 4 inches, and approximately 1.5 inches to 2 inches thick. Just let us know of any preferences upon checkout, and we'll do our best to accommodate.

NEW ANTLER FLAVOR OPTION! Original vs Hickory-Smoked - Mountain Dog Chews are now available in two varieties, ORIGINAL ANTLER (Our Straight-Up Fresh Antler) or our NEW HICKORY SMOKED (Lightly Smoked with real Hickory wood adding the distinct aroma, flavor and color of natural Hickory Smoke. Our Hickory-Smoked antlers are only made after you order, so please allow us an additional day of handling time to smoke the antlers before shipping your order.  Smoked antlers will cost an additional $7.50 per each antler chew. Unfortunately, we DO NOT offer returns on Hickory-Smoked Antlers.

Every antler chew is naturally unique and will vary, accordingly, in size and shape, weight/density and hue of color. However, all Mountain Dog Chews elk antler chews are sourced only from Grade A+ elk antler – the best one can purchase.

As with all consumable chew toys, please supervise diligently your pet when providing this antler chew. Once this chew has become worn down to a size that could pose a choking and/or swallowing hazard to your pet, please discard responsibly, and replace with a new Mountain Dog Chew!

  1. Bigger than expected! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Nov 2020

These things are awesome!!! Our doberman has not chewed on them yet, they are her Christmas presents. But, we know she will love them by the antlers we have ordered before with this part on the end! We asked for larger medallions because she is 100 pounds and a serious chewer! Very excited to see how much she loves these and appreciative of Mountain dogs giving us what we asked for size wise!!!

  2. Durable and enjoyable 5 Star Review

I have dogs who don't usually like hard bones but have allergies. Day took these away in 2 seconds and spent an entire day on them. They are 25 and 28 pounds and they took them quickly despite size.

  3. The Elk Antler Medallions are nearly indestructable, safe dog chews! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Apr 2020

This is my second purchase from Mountain Dog Chews and it's also a winner. My 6-month-old, 60-lb Lab puppy, Tucker, loves both of them, but the Medallion is made of much denser bone and will last for several months longer than the normal antler sections.

The bone of which the Medallion is made is at the base of the antler where it joins the elk's skull and it must take half of the force generated when two 700-lb male elk collide head-on fighting over access to a wiling female elk. It's probably at least as strong as a hockey puck made of marble and my Lab, who has just finished shedding his puppy teeth, really gives the Medallion a daily workout. After a week of constant abuse by Tucker, the Medallion seems to be almost unchanged.

Since it's 3" x 4" and an inch thick, the chew is way too big to be swallowed, even by a 60-lb Lab, so it will probably last for at least six months before it wears down to a size that's small enough to be dangerous.

Great chew at a fair price! My recommendation? Buy it.

  4. 3 Paws Up! 5 Star Review

All three of my labs (ages 3 to 12 years old) love these...keeps them play or chew toys. A healthy rainy day treat.

  5. Change of Pace 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Mar 2020

Skipper, my destructive terrier loves Mountain Dog Chews. I tried the medallions to give him a change of pace. Happily he loves these too! I am grateful to have found Mountain Dog Chews. Their products keep my little guy so busy he doesn't destroy my house.

  6. Outstanding Dog chew 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Sep 2019

This dog chew is so flavorful to my dog. He goes berserk for it! It great for his teeth and keeps him busy for hours. You can't go wrong with elk antlers from Mountain Dog Chews. I won't order from anyone else.

  7. Way bigger than expected 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Sep 2019

This thing is way bigger than expect. It is almost too big for our dog and not sure if our lady knows the best way to approach this thing. For reference for others she is a 30ish lb terrier poodle mix.

She chews on it now and again, but hasn't taken as heartily into it as some of the antlers she has had.

  8. Awesome Medallions 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Jun 2017

This was our first try with the Medallions. At first, the dogs were a little hesitant because they were used to the antlers, but it didn't take long for them to catch on. They are a perfect size & are a great challenge even with the marrow. After several days, one of the pooches has managed to make a nice little area on the side that gets right to the fun marrow part. She loves, loves, loves this thing! Ha!! Win, win!! Will be buying these again for sure!!

  9. Nice alternative to traditional antlers 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Jan 2017

I'll definitely order more of these - for my dogs as well as my children's dogs!

  10. Surprisingly irresistible 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Nov 2016

The only two type of antlers my 25 pound dog doesn't very quickly lose interest are the medallions and moose antlers. She *loves* these!

  11. Too heavy for my dog 3 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Oct 2016

I purchased the Mountain Medallion for my 20 lb 10 month old labradoodle based on the Antler Chew Sizing Guidelines posted here. While I think these are really high quality and a good value it's almost too good. It is so dense and heavy that my dog can barely pick it up and bring it across the room in his mouth. He's not a heavy chewer and very gentle on his toys and he could barely pick it up in his mouth to chew on it. I kept hearing him drop it on the floor. I was concerned with the weight of it on his teeth. I think it would be better for a larger dog so I ended up giving it to my friend's Lab who's 90 lbs and a heavy chewer.

  12. Mountain Dog Medallion chews are like doggie crack! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Oct 2016

I have many dogs (2 full-size German Shepherds, 2-five month old German Shepherd pups, 2-elderly pugs, and 1-mini dachshund)..yes I said many. When I first opened the bag i thought the medallions were huge and my dogs wouldn't be able to eat/chew or carry them around. Much to my surprise, even the 9-pound Dachshund picked it up and carried it away to his happy place. They all were quite and happy for a long. No hesitation to order these products again.
