We have found that our Center-Cut Split chews tend to be most favored by dogs – not surprising, as puppies, seniors and all dogs love ready access to the yummy, nutrient-rich marrow. As our antler chews are expertly hand-cut, OUR split chews are a safe and satisfying treat. Dogs literally go nuts over our Center-Cut Split chews!
Offered on a per-piece basis (that is, Qty 1 = 1 chew).
Average Dimensions: Hand selected for consistency, this Medium Center-Cut Split chew generally varies in length from 6 inches to 8 inches and, if not sliced into a single half, would vary in average diameter from 1.5 inches to 2+ inches.
Every antler chew is naturally unique and will vary, accordingly, in size and shape, weight/density and hue of color. However, all Mountain Dog Chews elk antler chews are sourced only from Grade A+ elk antler – the best one can purchase.
As with all consumable chew toys, please supervise diligently your pet when providing this antler chew. Once this chew has become worn down to a size that could pose a choking and/or swallowing hazard to your pet, please discard responsibly, and replace with a new Mountain Dog Chew!

My Goldens, Maddie and Bailey love these. They've been Mountain Dog Elk Antler dogs since they were 6 months old. They just turned 2 and as usual they both want the same one to start. After a day they trade off until one's gone, then they start on another one together. Sisters, go figure.

I was getting a new dog from a shelter and while I was ordering this antler from Mountain Dogs I had to go and buy him a temporary chew at the big pet store. I wasn't pleased with quality of antlers at the store - they all looked white which, from all my research, means they are not fresh. And then this chew comes - it looks all brown and clearly very fresh, almost like it was just picked up in the woods. And guess which chew my dog prefers now? His old chew from the store now just lies there and he chews on this one - so apparently the dog "knows" the difference.

My son's dog, Elsa, loves this antler chew. She's a small-medium sized dog so I ordered a medium split elk antler. She has worked hard on it and has almost chewed all of the inside of the antler. Previous antler chews were not purchased from Mountain Dog Chews and splintered right away. We had to dispose of them way too soon. After talking with a nice man at Mountain Dog Chews I learned that their antlers are from sheds during the
spring of the year - consequently they are fresh and not dry and brittle. We will not make these purchases from any pet store again - ONLY MOUNTAIN DOG CHEWS.

These are a great price for medium-sized, center-cut antlers. Usually, I have to pay $25.00 at my pet store for comparable antlers, and the ones sold at Petco/Pet Smart are less quality and more expensive.
Only problem is that these are not as "fresh" as the ones sold at my pet store (they buy them whole and split them), so my dog will lose interest a little quicker. The upside is that they last longer, and the "fresh" ones from the pet store last maybe two or three days since my dog will work on them for hours.

Thank you for your review. We source all of our elk antlers in the spring after the elk shed them in March and April. All our antlers come from Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Idaho. Given the Elk only shed their antlers once a year and we cut the antlers ourselves here as the orders come in, they are as fresh as you can get. Right now all the elk antlers we are cutting for Dog Chews are from the 2016 spring shedding season, the antlers are stored in proper conditions to retain freshness and again, we cut daily to ensure the outgoing products are as fresh as possible.
Could it be that the antlers from your pet store that your dog is able to chew quickly are not necessarily more fresh, but simply lighter weight and less dense which typically means Dogs will consume more antler daily because of the softer antler?
Most retailers have no idea where their antlers come from or how old they really are. We are involved in the sourcing and processing of the antlers from the beginning to the end, and are able to control the quality to a much greater extent than anyone else in the industry.

I've been purchasing elk antlers for my maltese shih tzu for over a year, and have been an extremely satisfied customer. My family recently adopted a new dog member of the family, a siberian husky. Knowing that she would need a larger size, I ordered the medium for her and the small for my Malshi. The medium is far larger than expected, but is the perfect size for a growing (and chewing) husky! Now if I could only convince them to not fight over each other's antlers...

The first purchase I made was a whole peice, so I thought for sure my dog would like the split. He does not. It just lays on the floor while he chews away at the other 2 items I purchased. I love your product. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is chewing on something good for him. Like I said in my review of the mini moose, I am glad I found you, will be buying more as needed. THANK YOU!

My pups love these and they last a really long time. We always buy new ones before vacation so they have something to chew in the car that is clean with no mess. We often have a mix of old and new in the house at all time. Thank you!

This antler is awesome! We bought one for our pup a few months ago. Through Instagram he was involved in a Secret Santa Gift Exchange for dogs. We couldn't think of a better gift for our friends dog than this antler!
They loved it too! :)
We'll be back for more but it might be a while. It's been a few months and the thing was so big our pup is still working on it and will be for a while. :)

I couldn't be happier with this and all of the orders I have placed. The order is always correct and ships fast. The product is very sanitary and I think at a good price. My 2 dogs love the splits.

My dogs love the medium split elk antlers. My one complaint about them is that they chew the marrow out of them TOO quickly and then are luke warm on the rest of the antler and they are a mite expensive for me when I have si x dogs to take care of. They make a nice alternative to chewies for them once in a while though and never make any kind of mess on any kind of flooring.........

I've been purchasing Mountain Dog Chews a couple of years now and highly recommend them as a fantastic product. It's an excellent value for the money spent. More than that too, this is a brand that has been phenomenally good to my dogs from a health standpoint. Both the wargs love chewies but are plagued by allergies and even the mere sight of a pig ear or bully stick seems to give them the dreaded runs. Mountain Dog products have never given my dogs an upset stomach despite tons of enthusiastic gnawing - they're now the only chews I feel comfortable giving them.
I like the medium size antlers for my two, 30lbs and 55lbs. The medium is a good size for both dogs as the large size is a bit big for the 30lb pup.
